AC/DC drummer Phil Rudd has pleaded guilty to drug possession charges and a charge of threatening to kill.
Rudd appeared in front of a judge this morning at Tauranga District Court, in New Zealand, to enter a guilty plea to charges of methamphetamine and cannabis possession and one count of threatening to kill.
The drummer has been remanded on bail and will be sentenced on June 26th. Rudd remained silent as he left the court and refused to answer questions from the gathering media.
Rudd’s legal problems started back in November 6th 2014 when police raided his home and charged him with attempting to procure a murder, threatening to kill and possession of drugs. Although the procuring a murder charge was dropped very quickly, the other charges have remained.
Rudd’s lawyer Craig Tuck stated they were interested in taking a “pathway of making sure the facts are right and making sure both sides of the story are told.” He added, “Phil is very interested in how the media deal with it.”
While Rudd is fighting his legal troubles former AC/DC drummer Chris Slade has been filling in for him.
